The Silverwood Band
Teesside's Longest Established Wind Band
Making Music for over 30 years

Welcome to the Silverwood Bands Website, Teessides Longest Playing Wind Band

Formed in 1981 the Silverwood Band, is the longest running wind band in the Middlesbrough and Teesside area, we are a community band made up of local musicians of varying backgrounds, ages and abilities. The band consists of woodwind, brass and percussion players, who come together to enjoy playing music, we rehearse once a week in Nunthorpe and play concers across the Tees Valley region.

The band celebrated it’s 30th anniversary in 2011 and has grown to over 40 members, we have been lucky to secure the committment of Alan Owens as our Musical Director, and with new members requesting to join all the time we have members travelling from Redcar, Guisborough, Stockton and Hartepool to have fun making music. Our success is, in the main, down to our friendly welcoming atmosphere and the joint aim of all the members to produce and enjoy good music.

The band is available to book to play at events across Teesside and the North East, and has over the years supported many charities in their fund raising events. You can find out more about our fund raising activites on our history page.

If you are looking to join the band or want to make enquiries about booking the band to support your event, please go to the contact us page of the website.
